Through two years, Tremblay has thrown 57.2 innings, sports a 3-3 record and has 37 strikeouts.
VMI opens their 2019 season on February 15 at a tournament in Wilmington, N.C. The Keydet schedule includes a home and home series with Virginia Tech (April 2 in Lexington, April 23 in Blacksburg) a game at Virginia (February 20) and a three-game road set at Clemson (February 22-24).
Lumberjack Splinters
• Scott Hearn, a member of the first-ever Lumberjack team back in 2001, was recently named the head baseball coach at Mary Baldwin University.
Hearn will get a chance to build a program from the ground up.
Mary Baldwin will field their first-ever baseball team in the spring of 2020 as a club sport, before beginning at the varsity level in the Division III USA South Athletic Conference in 2021.
Hearn has spent the last decade as an assistant coach at his alma mater, Bridgewater College.
A 2003 Bridgewater graduate, Hearn was an All-ODAC performer in each of his four seasons as a player and he still holds program career records for hits (235), runs batted in (165), doubles (54) and total bases (376).
In 2001, Hearn hit .303 for the Jacks, helping them to the Valley League championship series in their inaugural year.
• Robby Scott, a 2010 Lumberjack, was claimed off waivers by the Cincinnati Reds earlier this week.
Scott has pitched 48.1 innings out of the Boston Red Sox bullpen over the past three seasons, good for a 3.91 ERA.
Scott, the brother of former Lumberjack head coach Dan Scott, pitched 19 innings in Covington and had a 1-3 record in four appearances.
