CLIFTON FORGE — Clifton Forge Masonic Lodge 166 recently welcomed Freddy Barnett, District Deputy Grand Master for the 20th Masonic District, for an official visit.
Right Worshipful Barnettis a past master of Clifton Forge Lodge 166. He represented Most Worshipful William Edward Hershey Jr., 174th Grand Master of Masons in Virginia.
During his visit, Barnett presented a program on the Grand Master theme for the year — Friendship, Morality and Brotherly Love.
The 20th Masonic district consists of Millboro Lodge 28, Mountain City Lodge 67 in Lexington, Clifton Forge Lodge 166, Covington Lodge 171, Buena Vista lodge 186, and Glasgow Lodge 233.
Districts 23 and 20 were separate districts until January 1, 2019. Now all lodges are in District 20.
Freemasonry is the oldest fraternal organization in existence and is based on the belief that each man has a responsibility to help make the world a better place.
Through its culture of philanthropy, Masons make a profound difference for its brothers; as well as their families, communities and future.
The charities that all masons should support are the scholarship program to assist children in their educational journey, blood program, Masonic Relief Fund, and Masonic Home of Virginia.
