The Alleghany Highlands Chamber of Commerce and Tourism will celebrate its 40th anniversary this year at the 2019 annual dinner meeting on Saturday, March 30.
The dinner meeting continually serves as a platform to recognize local businesses and business owners for all their hard work and contributions to the community throughout the year.
This year, the event will be held on March 30 at the Greenbrier Resort with cocktail hour starting at 5:30 p.m. and dinner and awards to follow at 6:30 p.m. in Colonial Hall.
Invitations will be sent out soon and tickets will go on sale in the coming weeks.
As in previous years, special overnight accommodations will be offered to attendees of the dinner meeting by calling 844-210-6312 by March 1.
Sponsorship opportunities will also be available. If interested please call the Alleghany Highlands Chamber of Commerce and Tourism at (540) 962-2178.
If you have photos from previous dinner meetings, please submit those to the chamber by email – info@ahchamber.com or by dropping them off at the chamber office – 110 Mall Road in Covington as the chamber intends to showcase the history of the annual dinner meeting at this year’s event.
The chamber also encourages all past presidents of the Alleghany Highlands Chamber of Commerce to attend in celebration of the 40th anniversary.
“The Alleghany High-lands Chamber of Commerce has a long history of celebrating local businesses in the area and we are so excited to honor that tradition this year on our 40th anniversary” said Teresa Hammond, executive director of the Alleghany Highlands Chamber of Commerce and Tourism.
On May 8, 1979, the Clifton Forge Chamber and the Covington-Alleghany County Chamber of Com-merce merged. Thus, the Greater Alleghany Highlands Chamber of Commerce was born, representing once voice, one community — the Alleghany Highlands.
For more information on attending or becoming a sponsor of the 2019 annual dinner meeting, please call the chamber at (540) 962-2178.
