STAUNTON — Bath County’s girls soccer team kicked off the season here Tuesday with a 4-1 win over Stuart Hall.
Stephanie Gardener and Fenia Skovira scored two goals apiece for the Chargers.
Alicia Schwallenberg and Camden Smith both had assists.
“Midfielders Jenifer Ford, Camden Smith and Alicia Schwallenberg were tremendous tonight stopping most of their attacks all game long,” said BCHS?coach Adam Frye. “Jenifer and Camden were a brick wall for our defense. Our defense was led by Jillian Brown and Faith Nichols who worked well to keep our goal clear. Stephanie and Fenia were relentless pressing their defense all game long.”
The Chargers played the game without substitutes with some players unable to participate.
“I’m beyond proud of my ladies for the way they played tonight,” Frye finished. “(I’m) ecstatic for the start to the season.”
Bath County plays at Grace Christian on Monday.
