Rockbridge County jumped to a 3-0 halftime lead and tacked on a goal in the 72nd minute for a 4-0 boys soccer win over Alleghany Thursday at Mountaineer Field.
The Mountaineers, who have had only four outdoor practices due to snow days and a muddy field, are back on the pitch Tuesday when they host Covington.
“We have a big part of the team that is new,” said AHS coach Jose Aragones. “Hopefully, we’ll improve every game.”
Rockbridge County won Thursday’s junior varsity match, 2-0.
