COVINGTON, Va. – The Virginia Review is saddened to report that Covington Mayor Fred Forbes died Saturday morning, March 14. Forbes had been on Covington City Council since Jan. 1, 2023.

He has served as mayor since the death of Mayor Lance Carson in 2025. Funeral service arrangements are unavailable at this time.
