Terran Baker is on a goal-scoring tear.
Baker netted five goals Tuesday at the Jackson River Sport Complex, kicking Covington to a 6-2 Pioneer District win over Craig County.
The junior now has 12 goals in his last three matches and has 61 for his three-year career as a Cougar.
The Rockets took the lead in the first minute, before Baker scored five unanswered in the  7th, 15th, 29th, 31st and 51st minute. His second goal came on a penalty kick.
Covington led 4-1 at the half.
Jacob Roldan scored the final Cougar goal in the 53rd minute.
Luke Fisher and Samuel Poague both worked in goal for the winners.
“The kids all played really well,” said CHS coach Heather Baker. “I like how we were coming down the sides and then putting it in the middle. We had some good crosses.
“We’re improving — I like to see that,” she added. “We still have things to work on and improve on.”
Covington improved to 2-2 in the Pioneer District and 2-6 overall with the victory. The Cougars play at Parry McCluer on Thursday, May 2.
