Charges Upgraded: Darryl L. Pelter Now Faces Two Counts of Taking Indecent Liberties with Children

COVINTGTON, Va. (VR)- The suspect from last night’s incident, Darryl L. Pelter, charges have been modified to two counts of §18.2-370 (Taking indecent liberties with children.)

These charges are a Class 5 felony, and could result in a maximum sentence of 10 years in prison, and a $2,500 fine for each charge.

Pelter, is currently being held at the Alleghany Regional Jail without bond, and is scheduled to appear in court for an arraignment sometime next week.
