Covington Volleyball Tryouts Start Monday

For the second consecutive year Covington High School’s War of the Wrestlers has been cancelled.
CHS athletic director Charity Hale said Friday afternoon that the plug had been pulled on the event because of the forecasted snow and ice scheduled for today.
Alleghany was scheduled to wrestle at the Warriors Invitational at Western Albemarle but will not travel to the event.
Today’s Dominos/Alcova Mortgage Middle School Basketball Classic at Maury River Middle School has been postponed.
Both the Covington eighth grade basketball team and Clifton Middle School’s boys and girls basketball teams were scheduled to compete.
CMS girls coach Thumper Leitch said that the event may be rescheduled at a later date.
The Falcon wrestling team was scheduled to complete in the Norseman Tournament at Northside, but that event was also postponed.
