COVINGTON, Va. (VR) – The City of Covington would like to make citizens and businesses aware that effective Friday, August 1, 2025, Peter’s Mountain Landfill will be permanently closed.

All refuse will be sent to Alleghany County Transfer Station.

Your refuse will be collected as normal.

City of Covington citizens and businesses will be allowed to take refuse

to the Transfer Station, as needed.
