The August 4, 2026, City Council Work Session is canceled due to National Night Out, hosted by the City of Covington Police Department, Fire/EMS, and first responders.
The event will be held Tuesday, August 4, 2026, from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM at Main Street Park, 708 W. Main Street, Covington, VA 24426

1. To consider and reappoint Tammy Scruggs-Duncan to the Alleghany Economic Development Corporation. Mrs. Scruggs-Duncan’s partial Term expired on June 30, 2026.
2. To consider and reappoint Lee Roe to the Alleghany Economic Development Corporation. Mr. Roe’s partial Term expired on June 30, 2026.
3. To consider and reappoint Kim H. Jefferson to the Alleghany County Department of Social Services Board: Ms. Jefferson’s partial Term expires on July 31, 2026.
