Cindy Durham has been elected to serve as the 2020 Governor of the Natural Bridge District, Ruritan National.
The district includes clubs in Bath, Rockbridge, Alleghany and Botetourt counties.
Durham served as the district’s lieutenant governor for 2019.
Ruritan clubs focus on community service and seek projects which relate to social development, business and professions, citizenship and patriotism, the environment and support of youth activities and education.
Durham is a member of the Falling Spring Ruritan Club which has sponsored an annual Poker Run on the Jackson River Scenic Trail, trash pickup on the Jackson River Road, Hunters for the Hungry, recognition and care of veterans, youth scholarships, and numerous other community projects.
Durham is the first governor from the Falling Spring club since the late Thurston Boggs served in that capacity.
Club membership is open to anyone wanting to make a difference in their community.
