COVINGTON, Va. (VR) – On February 26, 2025, the Alleghany County Sheriff’s Office, in collaboration with the Alleghany Highlands Multi-jurisdictional Emergency Response Team, Clifton Forge Police Department and Virginia State Police arrested Lucas Baker, 45, of Clifton Forge, Virginia. Baker has been charged under Virginia Code18.2-374.3 for the online solicitation of a minor.
The arrest followed an extensive investigation into Bakers alleged attempts to engage in inappropriate communication with an individual he believed to be a minor. Law enforcement officials executed the operation without incident, ensuring the safety of all involved. During this investigation no minors were involved.
Baker was transported to the Alleghany Regional Jail, where he is currently being held without bond.
Additional charges may be filed as the investigation continues.
