CLIFTON FORGE, Va. (VR) – An anonymous donor has given the Clifton Forge Public Library a unique ceiling globe that has been repurposed and painted with nine local scenes. The scenes include: The Stacks in Longdale Furnace, Douthat Dam, Falling Springs, a steam locomotive, Flag Rock,
Rainbow Rocks, J.D. Cabin, Humpback Bridge, and the old entrance to C&O CSX shops.

The globe was given with the intent that it be sold in a silent auction with proceeds going to benefit the library.

The globe measures 12” wide and 9.5” tall including the stand upon which it sits and is illuminated.

Bids are currently open and will conclude at 5:00 p.m., on Friday, February 28.

You may bid on the globe at the library during regular hours: Monday and Tuesday, 9:30-5:30; Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday, 9:30-5:00; and, Saturday, 9:30-1:00.

The Clifton Forge Public Library is located at 535 Church Street.
