An “Afternoon of Advent and Christmas Music” will be presented on Sunday, Dec. 1, at 3:30 p.m. at First Presbyterian Church.
The Music on the Corner series presents Leah and Rodger Trent, performing on harps, concertina, bowed psalteries, and more.
For their concert Sunday, Rodger and Leah will play Christmas carols from many lands including Austria, England, Greece, Ireland, Poland, Scotland and Wales.
A church spokesperson commented, “This program will be a beautiful beginning to the Advent and Christmas season. Leah and Rodger are well-known musicians who have performed at First Presbyterian a number of times.”
Leah and Rodger enjoy playing traditional music from Ireland and Scotland. The Trent’s Christmas CD, titled “That Night in Bethlehem,” will be for sale after the concert.
Both Leah and Rodger currently serve as organists, pianists, harpists, and choir directors at Ronceverte Presbyterian Church. Leah also teaches private harp lessons and plays harp for special occasions.
The concert is free and open to the public. Those attending are invited to bring staple food products or a monetary gift for local food pantries the church supports.
First Presbyterian Church is located on the corner of Maple and Locust in Covington. The accessible entrance is on Locust Street directly across from the Mid-City Mall parking lot.
