Peggy Frances Doyle Brinkley, age 83, of 23905 Mountain Valley Road, Millboro, Virginia died Friday, March 22, 2019 at her home.
She was born March 27, 1935 in Warm Springs, Virginia to the late Raymond R. Doyle and Ethel Corbett Doyle.
She worked at the Bath County Clerk’s office and also carried newspapers. She was a member and past secretary of Woodland Union Church. She enjoyed gardening, crochet, quilting and was known for her chocolate cake and loving her family. 
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, William Merritt “Bud” Brinkley; a son, William Edward Brinkley; a sister, Polly Doyle Monroe; and a brother, Leo Doyle. 
She is survived by a daughter, Frances A. Brinkley and a son, Dennis W. Brinkley and wife Julie, both of Millboro; four grandchildren, Danielle Martin and husband Chris, Derek Brinkley, Tiffany Brinkley, and Shauna Brinkley, four great grandchildren, and the most recent great grandson, Bryce Martin; a number of nieces and nephews; three caregivers, Tammy Lagoe, Louise Wolfe, and Samantha Newcomer; and a host of special friends.
A funeral service will be held on Monday, March 25, 2019 at 2:00 PM at Woodland Union Church, Millboro with Reverend David George officiating.
Interment will follow in Woodland Church Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Frankie Brinkley, Dale Loan, Greg Smith, Marty Plecker, Timmy Plecker, Dickie Conner, Philip Clark, and Dean Hicklin.
The family will receive friends on Monday afternoon from 12:30 PM until the time of service at Woodland Union Church. 
Nicely Funeral Home, Clifton Forge is handling arrangements. 
The family suggests memorial tributes take the form of contributions to the Millboro Area Rescue Squad, PO Box 295, Millboro, Virginia 24460.
