COVINGTON- Alleghany gutted out a hard-fought 27-9 victory on the road at Carroll County last week and a critical piece to their winning puzzle was athlete, Jay Godfrey.
Godfrey made a critical interception in the game that gave all the momentum back to his Cougar sideline, and for his efforts, is the Virginian Review’s ‘Football Friday’ Alleghany player of the week.
Godfrey and his Alleghany teammates will look to keep their unbeaten streak going this Friday night, Oct. 18 in a huge showdown with Glenvar.
