As part of its summer reading program for children, the Clifton Forge Public Library will host the following fun events.
Magician Mike Klee will offer amazing balloon magic on Wednesday, July 10. The Big Balloon Show, using storytelling and incredible costumes made from balloons, focuses on Trix the wonder rabbit who is missing. Adventurous escapades to find him include visits to fairy tale land to collect magical pixie dust, submerging under water to look for buried treasure, and meeting a wizard and his dragon.
The Rainbow Puppets will present “Beautiful Tales” on Wednesday, July 17. Sleeping Beauty brings to life the evil fairy, a wicked curse, and a brave plan that just has to work – all against a lively musical backdrop by Peter Tchaikovsky. The Ugly Duckling learns he is perfect just the way he is.
The Bright Star Touring Theatre will conclude the programs with “Storybook Tales: Pinocchio and Robin Hood,” on Wednesday, July 31. While dashing through the streets of an Italian village, lessons of responsibility and parental love shine through as Pinocchio struggles to become real. Hiking through England’s Sherwood Forest, Maid Marian and the Sheriff of Nottingham engage in exciting exploits with Robin Hood.
Each delightful, engaging program, geared for children ages 3- 12, includes audience interaction.
Each program will begin at 11:00 a.m., and will be held at the Clifton Forge Fire Department, located at 701 Church Street. Admission is free.
Parents or guardians should accompany their preschoolers and primary grade children.
