HOT SPRINGS – In a pivotal Pioneer District showdown, Bath County routed Narrows 7-1 in a varsity boys soccer match in Hot Springs last Tuesday.
The Chargers got a huge performance from Luke Turner who had a hat trick with three goals in the win. Turner was also one of four players with three steals.
While Turner’s hat trick was an uplift in the win, Braiden Mabe also helped the cause with two goals and also led the Chargers with a game-high six steals.
BCHS also had goals from Andrew Turner and Wyatt Campbell. Turner and Carter Hooker added a pair of assists.
Frankie DeBoe was dominant on the nets as the senior goalkeeper had 10 saves and allowed just one goal.
With the win the Chargers swept the regular season series with the Green Waves. BCHS had defeated NHS 4-1 five days prior in Narrows.
Bath County (6-7, 4-2 Pioneer) and Narrows played for a third time this season on Monday as the Chargers hosted the Green Waves in the Pioneer District tournament. BCHS had their regular season finale with Alleghany be canceled at the end of last week.
