Joyce Ann Brogan Lilly
Mrs. Joyce Ann Brogan Lilly, age 81, of Covington, died Monday, February 5, 2024, at her residence. She was the wife of Richard Preston Lilly for fifty-eight years.
Mrs. Lilly was born October 19, 1942, in Raleigh County, WV, the daughter of the late Woodrow Wilson Brogan and Nina Rose Brogan. A homemaker, Joyce enjoyed spending time taking care of her home and family, especially the time she spent with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. In her spare time, Mrs. Lilly enjoyed working in her flower beds. She was of the Baptist faith.
In addition to her husband, Mrs. Lilly is survived by her son, Richard Paul Lilly and wife, Tammy Thompson Lilly of Covington; her daughter, Paula Lilly Barton and husband, Charles Edward Barton of Lewisburg, WV; her granddaughter, Amber Dawn Wells and husband, Matthew of Covington and their children, Landon Todd Wells, Harper Grace Wells and Payton Joyce Wells; her grandson, Jesse Ray Lilly and wife, Samantha Shifflett Lilly and their children, Noah Ray Lilly, Hayes Preston Lilly and Madison Michael Lilly; her brother, Woodrow Wilson Brogan and wife, Theresa of Cool Ridge, WV; her two sisters, Jean Farley of Appling, GA and Nina Dillard of Raleigh-Durham, NC; and a number of nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Lilly was preceded in death by her brother, John Elbert Brogan and her two sisters, Genevieve Garten and Frances Lucas.
A memorial service will be conducted at a later date.
