CLIFTON FORGE – On January 9th, Dae Dae Bowens made Mountain Gateway basketball history when he became the first Roadrunners player to win national honors in capturing the JUCO Division III Player of the Week award.
At the time winning the award, Bowens, of Darlington, S.C. led the country in rebounding at 18.3 per game.
On Saturday, December 2nd in a road game at Oxford College of Emory University, the 6-foot-6 Bowens broke the school programs single-game rebounding record with 26.
A mere eight days later following his record-breaking game, Bowens recorded another 26-rebound performance at home against Louisburg College.
For the season, Bowens has put together five 20+ rebound performances and is averaging 17.4 points per game for the Roadrunners.
