Dear Editor,
I’m so happy to see brave citizens sending letters to the editor sounding the alarm about Trump’s wannabe dictator campaign for the presidency! I’ve been worried that too many of us would keep quiet because we worried that extreme MAGA deplorables might shoot our dogs, stab our tires, burn our barns or worse if we call it like we see it. It was very encouraging to read Steve Metzler and Wanda Walton’s letters (Jan 11). They remind us in clear (and concise) terms why we dare not remain uninformed and asleep at the wheel as Trump and Republican enabler termites chew through the foundations of this republic and collapse our 2+ century-old government of, by, and for the people into a kleptocratic autocracy. History warns us such a collapse would continue long after Trump and MAGA are long gone.
