The swearing-in for the new chief of police, Barry “Scott” Balser, initially scheduled during the January 9th Clifton Forge Town Council Meeting, has been rescheduled due to several illnesses, including that of Balser’s mother. Scott Balser, follows in the footsteps of his father who, as Mayor Irvine pointed out Tuesday night, served as chief of police for over 25 years. Balser’s new swearing-in date will be at 7:00 p.m. on the next regularly scheduled Clifton Forge Town Council Meeting at Town Hall on February 13th. The Virginian Review would like to take this time to congratulate Mr. Scott Balser on this honor and wish him tremendous success in the future! (Jennifer Bailey Photo)
