The Alleghany Highlands Young Professionals Group, also known as “AHspireYP”, will be hosting an exciting professional development event for local young professionals called Elevate Alleghany this month. The event will take place on Friday, January 19th from 12-2 pm at Mountain Gateway Community College’s Moomaw Center and will feature a networking portion followed by a panel discussion focused on helping young professionals advance in their careers.
Attendees will hear from leaders at Mountain Gateway Community College, Alleghany Highlands Public Schools, LewisGale Hospital – Alleghany, WestRock and more as they share important information, real-life experiences, and tools to help young professionals succeed in their careers. Area employers are encouraged to invite their employees who are considered young professionals to attend for this exciting professional development opportunity. Young Professionals include anyone between the ages of 21-40. “We are so excited to host the first ever Elevate Alleghany panel discussion. We hope that this becomes a quarterly discussion that helps our local young professionals gain valuable insight as they work to grow in their careers and become leaders in our community as well as serve as a tool to help fill the workforce needs of our region’s employers” said Josh Taylor of the Alleghany Highlands Chamber of Commerce & Tourism.
A light lunch/hors d’oeuvres will be provided during the networking portion of the event and there is no cost to attend.
