Clevie McDonald Wallace
Clevie McDonald Wallace was born on May 19, 1934 in Longdale, Virginia to the late William E. and Bessie Oatneal Wallace. He entered eternal rest on January 1, 2024.
He attended the former Watson High School and graduated in June 1953. Because of his love for education, he furthered his education at Saint Paul’s College in Lawrenceville, Virginia and graduated with a BS degree in Business Education. Clevie received an honorable discharge from the United States Army in August 1964. He was employed at Hercules in Covington, Virginia until it closed.
Clevie was a lifelong dedicated member of the Main Street Baptist Church where he served on the Trustee Board (Trustee Emeritus). Clevie loved helping people and volunteered his time at the Brian Center Nursing Home in Low Moor, Virginia. He was loved and respected by his family and friends.
On February 28, 1963, he married the love of his life Edna Madeline Jefferson who preceded him in death in 1996. Clevie had six brothers and two sisters who also preceded him in death.
In addition to fond memories, Clevie leaves a devoted nephew and wife, Reginald and Latasha Wallace of Clifton Forge, Virginia, one devoted great-nephew, Xzavier Edwards of Denver, Colorado and a devoted great-great nephew, Tyreek Yancey of Clifton Forge, Virginia. Three devoted great nieces, Courtney Wallace of Lynchburg, Virginia, Jasmine Thornton and Annyah of Covington, Virginia, and Chanti Yancey of Clifton Forge, Virginia. Two step-grandsons; Jimmy Jefferson (Anne), Woodbury, New Jersey and John Jefferson (Michelle) Frederick, Maryland; four devoted nieces, Romania Jordan (Oliver), Genelda Wallace, Vanessa Wallace, and Denise Crawley all of Clifton Forge, Virginia; three loving nephews, Leonard Wallace, Jr (Joyce), of Easton, Pennsylvania, Richard Wallace (Gail) of Clifton Forge, VA and Rodney Wallace, Roanoke, VA, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
A funeral service will be held on Monday, January 8, 2024, at 11:00 AM in Main Street Baptist Church, Clifton Forge. Interment will follow in Red Hill Cemetery, Clifton Forge. The family will receive friends an hour prior to the service at the church.
