The Alleghany Highlands Chamber of Commerce and Tourism hosted a ribbon cutting ceremony Wednesday morning at the Pig Iron Country Store, located at 204 Westvaco Rd. in Low Moor.
The store was established in 2004 as Low Moor Country Store by Dr. Gary Pillow.
In January the name was changed to Pig Iron Country Store to reflect the history of the community and the Low Moor Iron Company, which was the first producer of pig iron in Virginia.
The Pig Iron Country Store is open Monday through Saturday from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m.
