On Friday night, December 8, at 7 p.m., the Alleghany Cougars Varsity basketball team will play their first home game of the season against the Rockbridge County Wildcats to determine which feline will roar the loudest.
The Cougars have had two away games so far this season and are currently holding to a 1-1 record after falling by a close margin last week to the Lord Botetourt Cavaliers 65-76. With the first two games being away, tomorrow night will be historic, as it will be the first-ever Varsity home basketball game for the Alleghany Cougars.
Players and coaches alike are undoubtedly eager to get the ball rolling -no pun intended- on their first home game and clench the victory. So, Alleghany County, don your blues and/or other Cougar gear and get over to the newly-remodeled Alleghany High School gym tomorrow night and support these incredible young athletes!
