Frances Maxine “Sally” Knighton TIngler
Frances Maxine “Sally” Knighton TIngler, age 84, of 9716 Rich Patch Road, Low Moor, Virginia died Wednesday, November 22, 2023 at Lewis Gale Medical Center in Salem.
She was born December 1, 1938, in Alleghany County, Virginia to the late Percy Granville Knighton and Lucy Belle Fridley Knighton. She was retired from the food service departments of the former Alleghany Regional Hospital and Alleghany High School Cafeteria. She enjoyed camping and going to church and loved her family.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Tavner Owens Tingler in 2009; two sons, Tavner Tingler, Jr. and James Tingler; a daughter, Norma Straub; and a brother, Richard Knighton.
She is survived by two daughters, Patricia Jack and husband Mike of Clifton Forge, and Mary Jack and husband Robbie of Clifton Forge; two sons, Richard Tingler and significant other, Vicki of Low Moor, and Michael Tingler and significant other, JoJo of Potts Creek; a sister, Elaine Tingler and husband Tommy of Low Moor; twelve grandchildren, Melissa Kimberlin, Robbie Jack, Jr., Tabatha Jack, Amanda Ward, Stacy Webb, Timmy Thomas, Jason Broughman, John Broughman, Jessica Callaghan, Lauren Straub, Stephanie Tingler, and Michael Jack, Jr.; a number of great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; as well as a nephew, Tommy and a niece, Sara Lee.
In keeping with her wishes, her body has been cremated. A shared graveside memorial service for both Frances and Tavner will be held on Wednesday, November 29, 2023 at 1:00 PM in Sunrise Cemetery, Low Moor with Reverend Lisa Marshall officiating.
