Breaking news: Smoke and smell of smoke in Alleghany County and Covington

The Alleghany County Emergency 9-1-1 dispatch center, has received numerous calls in reference to smoke and the smell of smoke being reported throughout Alleghany County and The City of Covington. 

Fire Department crews have been out looking and have not located any fires in Alleghany County at this time.

The smoke and smell of smoke is believed to be coming from brush fires out of our county.
