So far this season, the Covington Middle School basketball teams, both the boys and the girls’ teams, have played two games. One was a home game played last week on November 9th against Central Academy, while the other was an away game played on Monday night, November 13, 2023, against Maury River. The way the schedules are arranged this season for middle school basketball, all games are played on the same night for both the boys’ and girls’ teams, with the games being played one right after the other.

On the November 9th game against Central Academy, the MS boys team won 45-33 while the girls lost their first game. In the second game this year, both scores were super close. The boys defeated Maury River Middle School 37-35 while the girls were just shy of the win 13-16. This puts the boys’ middle school basketball team at 2-0 while the girls are at 0-2. However, it is much too early in the season to say where things will develop from here.

The next games are scheduled for tonight, with the first game beginning at 5:00 p.m. for the girls and the 6:30 p.m. for the boys. The games are both away games at and against Glenvar Middle School. Those who can are encouraged to don your Covington blues and fill the bleachers for these young athletes. Go Cougars!
