Allegheny Mountain Radio is proud to announce the 2023 Gospel Jubilee. This year’s Jubilee takes place on Saturday, October 14th, from 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. in the Bath County High School Auditorium.
This year’s Jubilee will feature music from Crimson River Band, Bootsie Hodge, Richard and Karen Hise with some help from daughter Jenna Newmarker and will be headlined by The Announcers.
Crimson River is a six-piece Southern Gospel and Bluegrass band. For decades the Crimson River Band has shared the Good News of Jesus Christ in the Alleghany Highlands and surrounding areas.
Bootsie Hodge comes from a musical family and is a crowd favorite. She sings at Church and is always willing to help out. She’s been a part of Allegheny Mountain Radio’s fundraising events for over a decade.
Richard and Karen Hise & Daughter Jenna are local favorites. Richard and Karen sing at churches, fundraisers, and other community events. They are especially excited when their daughter Jenna, who lives in Newport News, can sing with them. They have hosted a Gospel Show on Allegheny Mountain Radio for almost 20 years. They believe music can reach those in need when words can’t.
This year’s Jubilee will be headlined by “The Announcers” who were formed in September of 1970. The group performs mainly on weekends and with an average of thirty appearances yearly. They have performed throughout Virginia, West Virginia, Maryland, Ohio, North Carolina, South Carolina, Georgia, and Tennessee.
The Announcers have produced 28 different recordings throughout the 53 years they have been together. Although the faces have changed to a small degree over the 50-plus years, the message remains the same. The current group of 5 singers has remained the same for over 25 years.
This is the close-out event for Allegheny Mountain Radio’s Fall Fundraiser. Admission will be a free-will offering. There will be a CD Basket Raffle, prizes and concessions. For more information 540 839 5400.
