Harold Albert Morgan
Harold Albert Morgan, age 92, of Covington, died Monday, September 11, 2023, at the Brian Center Alleghany, Low Moor. He was the husband of the late JoAnn Halverson Morgan who preceded him in death in 2017.
Mr. Morgan was born March 4, 1931, in Ronceverte, WV, the son of the late William Albert Morgan and Sadie Persinger Morgan. He served his country as a member of the United States Air Force during the Korean Conflict and in Japan. A member of this community since 1956, Harold was employed as a clerk by the CSX Railroad for a number of years until his retirement in 1990. Mr. Morgan was a longtime member of Fletcher Chapel United Methodist Church. He was also a member of the Callaghan Ruritan Club as well as the Transportation and Communication Union.
Mr. Morgan is survived by four daughters, Debra Kay Rago and husband, Ken of Buchanan, Kimberly Ann Brown and husband, Jim of Covington, Linda Reyns of Covington and Susan Amber Bostic and husband, Tim of Fincastle; six grandchildren, Ryan Jenkins, Brandy Moye, Michael Brown, AdriAnne Reynolds, Katie Bostic and Kyle Bostic; eight great-grandchildren; and a sister, Hazel Hayes of White Sulphur Springs, WV.
In addition to his parents and wife, Mr. Morgan was preceded in death by a sister, Helen Lucas.
A funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, September 14, 2023, at Fletcher Chapel Church located at 205 Fletcher Chapel Road, Covington with Rev. Lynn Wright officiating. Interment will follow in Fletcher Chapel Church Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Ken Rago, Jimmy Brown, Michael Brown, Kyle Bostic, Ryan Jenkins, Stan Moye, Daniel Reynolds and Jim Parker.
The family will receive friends on Thursday afternoon from 12:30 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. at Fletcher Chapel Church.
