Mrs. Shirley Ann Linkenhoker Pullin, age 82, of 2026 Byrd Avenue, Covington, passed on Sunday, August 9, 2020 after a long battle with her illness and pain.
She was born August 24, 1937 and was the daughter of Ethel Miller Linkenhoker and Woodrow Linkenhoker who preceded her in death.
She retired from the City of Covington after twenty-two years.
Mrs. Pullin loved camping and traveling, being with her family and church friends.  Shirley was a former member of the Covington Fire and Rescue Squad Ladies Auxiliary and was also a leader of the Cub Scouts and Brownies when her son and daughter where growing up.  She was a graduate of Covington High School and Phillips Business College.  Shirley was a member of Parrish Court United Methodist Church and was a member of the United Methodist Women.
Mrs. Pullin is survived by her husband, Jesse E. Pullin, Jr.; daughter, Teresa (Teri) Sowards and husband, Steve; son, Michael (Mike) Pullin and wife, Donna; seven grandsons; six great grandsons; and three great granddaughters.
A graveside service will be conducted at 11:00 A.M. Thursday, August 13, 2020, at Alleghany Memorial Park with her son-in-law, Steve and Pastor Greg Kropff officiating.
Pallbearers will be Jestin Watkins, Kevin Rickett, Corey Pullin, Andy Sowards, Patrick Pullin and Dakota Watkins.
The family suggests that memorial tributes take the form of contributions to Parrish Court United Methodist Church, 2343 S. Carpenter Drive, Covington, VA 24426.
Arrangements are being handled by Loving Funeral Home; www.lovingfuneralhome1913.com.
