SNOWSHOE, Wv. (VR) — Bath County brought home a team victory Monday, defeating Pocahontas County in a nine-hole match at The Raven at Snowshoe.
The Chargers finished with a team score of 212, beating Pocahontas County’s 234. Webster County finished at 210, while Tygarts recorded a 177.
Akio Long paced Bath County with a 50, finishing three strokes ahead of Atticus Stauffer, who carded a 53. Draven Whitmore followed with a 54, while Mason Henderson shot 55. Michael Keyes finished with a 61 and Zachariah Foster posted a 62.
Long’s round included a birdie on the par-3 third hole as the Chargers worked their way through the challenging mountain layout.
Bath County will return to the course Tuesday, Sept. 1, against Alleghany at Cliff View Golf Course. The match is scheduled for a 4 p.m. tee time and will serve as the first half of a home-and-away series between the two teams.
The Chargers then travel to The Hill in Blacksburg on Wednesday for another Pioneer District match as they continue their push for the top spot in the regular-season standings.
The Pioneer District Championship Tournament is scheduled for Sept. 23 at The Hill in Blacksburg.
