Jeanette Ann “Jenny” Selvey Brinkley, age 81, of 825 Acacia Avenue, Clifton Forge, Virginia died Wednesday, August 12, 2020 at LewisGale Hospital-Alleghany, Low Moor.
She was born June 14, 1939 in Keystone, West Virginia to the late Paul B. Selvey and Clementine Prentice Selvey.
She was a retired X-Ray technician for the former C&O Hospital and Alleghany Memorial Hospital. Jenny was a member of Clifton Forge Presbyterian Church and Cliftondale Country Club, and loved playing golf, enjoying her flowers, and spending time with her grandchildren. To Jenny, her family was everything.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Carl David Brinkley, as well as two brothers and a sister.
She is survived by two sons, John David Brinkley and wife Robin of Powhatan, and William Lewis “Bill” Brinkley and wife Amy of Wilmington, NC;  a brother and three sisters, including a local sister, Florence “Flo” Hepler of Covington; four grandchildren, Ryan, Colin, Christian and Mary Alice Brinkley; and a host of nieces and nephews.
In keeping with her wishes, her body will be cremated.
A memorial service will be held next Saturday, August 22, 2020 at 11:00 AM in the Clifton Forge Presbyterian Church, Clifton Forge with Reverend Paul Brokaw officiating.
A private inurnment will follow.
The family will receive friends that Saturday morning from 10:00 AM until the time of service at the church.
The family suggests memorial tributes take the form of contributions to Mountain Regional Hospice Volunteers, PO Box 637, Clifton Forge, VA 24422 and to Clifton Forge Presbyterian Church, 544 Church Street, Clifton Forge, VA 24422.
