Joyce Smith Traynor
It is with deep sadness and heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved Joyce Ann Smith Traynor.
She attended Central High School in Low Moor, Virgina. Joyce was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend. She was preceded in death by her beloved parents, Beulah and Woodrow Wilson (Joe) Smith, and leaves behind a family who loved her deeply and will miss her more than words can express.
Joyce is survived by her husband of decades, Lee, and her three children: Tina Deschaf (Kenny), Torina Norton (John), and Dwane Traynor (Laurel). She was a loving and devoted grandmother to 17 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren, who brought great joy and love into her life. She also leaves behind several cherished nieces and nephews.
Joyce shared a special bond with her three sisters, Rita Smith Stewart, Lois Smith Gibbs, and Linda Smith Potter. Their sisterhood was woven through a lifetime of memories, laughter, challenges, and unconditional love.
Losing a sister is losing a piece of your own history-a person who shared your earliest memories and understood a part of your life that no one else could quite know. Joyce will be remembered for her love of animals, and for the many ways she touched the lives of those around her. Her greatest legacy is not simply the years she lived, but the love she gave.
