Coming this Friday, August 11, and Saturday, August 12, the 45 th annual Streetscene ushers in live talent, games, activities, food, a 50/50 drawing, fireworks, car show, party, live DJ and more!
The “Pre-Streetscene Party” will kick off the festivities on Friday night from 6 p.m. – 9:30 p.m. at the River Rock Ampitheatre located at 870 W. Edgemont Dr. in Covington. “Five Shades of Gray,” a local Roanoke band, is scheduled to perform live. “Five Shades of Gray”
plays rock music from the 60’s-90’s.
Then, on Saturday, two separate events are taking place. The first is “Streetscene” going on from 10 a.m. – 4 p.m. in Downtown Covington. The local car show is open to all types of vehicles and will feature a live DJ and other entertainment throughout the day. There will also be
a 50/50 drawing and special drawing for Streetscene jackets. For participants who bring show cars, there will be cash drawings to look forward to! Additionally, door prizes, food, and vendors are available for all guests.
Saturday afternoon’s “Streetscene” will also have a little something for the kids. There will be games, activities, and a model car show that the youngsters can participate in.
Finally, on Saturday evening from 6 p.m. – 10 p.m., “Streetscene Saturday Night” will be going on at the River Rock Ampitheatre where “Fuzzy Logic” will be performing. “Fuzzy Logic” is a 4-man-band out of Roanoke made up of Rob Campbell who plays guitar, Terry Hannabass who plays the fiddle, guitar, and banjo, Raymond Howell who plays bass, and Jerry Parrish who plays the drums. All members are vocalists as well.
There will be a drawing during “Streetscene Saturday Night” for a Savage 25.06, donated by Riley Keys & Guns, a gun shop located at 2019 S. Rayon Dr. in Covington.

Food and drink will also be available Saturday night. The night will end with fireworks, capping off this year’s “Streetscene” festivities.
