Keisha J. Jones, the store owner for “All Over the Place,” was all smiles as she prepared slushies for two eager customers.
On her table was a colorful display of sea salts, homemade soaps, Starbucks earrings, bumblebee earrings, bracelets, rings, and more. Hungry passersby had the chance to buy Jones’ handmade vegan popcorn in flavors of coconut curry or cinnamon sugar.
The second-year veteran and Illinois Native was all smiles as she described her experience with the Downtown Market and her store, “All Over the Place,” located at 505 E. Ridgeway Street in Clifton Forge. “I came around July,” Jones said of her time as a vendor at the Downtown Market. “I came around this time last year.”
Jones darted back and forth, helping customers as she politely answered questions relating to her time as a vendor and her store. One of the soaps she had on display was crafted using the lavender given to her by another vendor.
In a small town where “everyone knows everyone,” each generation grows up making friends with the next, and those friends become your family, it is easy to see that the Downtown Market in Clifton Forge is no exception.
