Darlie Sue Dye McKinney, 79, of 4812 Johnson Creek Road, died, Sunday, September 6, 2020, at her home.
Mrs. McKinney was born June 28, 1941, in Richlands the daughter of the late Summers Dye and Madge Shell Dye.
She was a member of New Hope Baptist Church and Johnson Creek ARP Church and was a Past Matron of the Martha Chapter of the Order of the Eastern Star as well as a member of the Salem Order of the Eastern Star.   She loved her home family and her church family; enjoyed playing the piano and listening to southern gospel music.
Surviving are her Husband of 57 years, Lonnie McKinney, of Covington; two Daughters and Sons-in-law, Monica and Jeff Whitt of Covington and Darlie and Bruce Farley of Hot Springs;  two Sons and Daughters-in-law, Thomas and Jolie McKinney and Joseph and Sarah McKinney, both of Covington;  six grandchildren, Isaiah McKinney of Oriskany, Russell Whitt , Nathaniel McKinney,  Madilyn Whitt and Tanner Gene McKinney all of Covington and Dylan Hart of New Castle, and a number of cousins to include Joann Lockhart and husband Baker of Atlanta, GA.
The funeral service will be held Friday, September 11, 2020, at 3:00 PM in the Chapel of Arritt Funeral Home with the Rev. Barry Daniels officiating, assisted by the Rev. Paul Burns.
Pallbearers will be Isaiah McKinney, Russell Whitt, Nathaniel McKinney, David Whitt, Morris O’Conner, and Wesley Lilly.
Honorary Pallbearer will be Tanner Gene McKinney.
The interment will follow at Johnson Creek ARP Church Cemetery.
The family will receive their friends on Thursday evening from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Arritt Funeral Home.
Arrangements are being handled by Arritt Funeral Home.
