Mr. Rudolph V. Essex, age 89, of Warm Springs, died Tuesday, September 8, 2020, at Bath County Community Hospital. He was the husband of Ellen Thompson Essex.
Mr. Essex was born March 2, 1931 in Bath County, the son of the late Mary Essex.
A lifetime resident of this community, he served his country as a member of the United States Army during the Korean War. Rudolph was employed as a chef by the Homestead for forty-seven years before his retirement. He was a member of Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church in Warm Springs.
In addition to his wife, Mr. Essex is survived by a daughter, Debra Majors; three step-daughters, Yvonne Jackson, Carlisa Essex and Virginia Stewart; and many grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Due to these unique times, a memorial service will be held in the spring of 2021.
