Robert Taylor “Wizard” Wright, 56, of Covington passed away Saturday, September 12, 2020, at his residence.
Mr. Wright was born July 2, 1964, in Bath County a son of Genevieve Wheeler McKenzie of Clifton Forge and the late Wilbur Allen.
In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his stepfather, Lloyd McKenzie; a brother, Melvin Wright; a sister, Demeitry Valdez and his grandparents, Eugene and Emma Wright, whom he called mom and dad.
Wizard graduated from Bath County High school. He was employed at the Jackson River Enterprise. He was member a member of the Pine Street Baptist Church and he was a huge Michael Jackson fan. He loved to sing and dance.
Surviving in addition to his Mother his mother, are five sisters, Renee Wright of Covington, Sandra Dinkins of Macon Ga., Louise Wallace and her husband, Jay, of Roanoke, Kirk Wright of Covington, Linda Caldwell and her husband, Rudy, of Hot Springs, and Wanda Caldwell of St. Petersburg Fl.; three brothers, Clyde Beale of Lexington NC., and Steven Beale of Mount Vernon; NY a special nephew, Andre Booker, of Covington; special cousin, Timothy Wright, of Fayetteville, NC;, a special aunt, Jean Taylor, and her husband, Nathaniel, of Covington, Deborah W. Hall of Covington, and a very special friend Someko Brown, and number of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
In keeping with his wishes, his body has been cremated.
A celebration of Robert’s life will be held Saturday, September 19, 2020, at 11:00 AM in the Arritt Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Roderick Jenkins officiating and Rev Nathanial Taylor to deliver the eulogy.
The family will receive their friends one hour prior to the service at Arritt Funeral Home.
