19 Arrested On 59 Charges In ‘Operation Unmasked’

The Alleghany Highlands Drug Task Force has released the names of individuals who were indicted on illicit drug charges by an Alleghany County Circuit Court grand jury in July.
The grand jury met July 23 at the Alleghany County Courthouse in Covington and returned indictments against 22 individuals. 
As of Friday, all but two of the suspects had been arrested.
The suspects were arrested by the task force and local police officers as part of “Operation Unmasked.”
As of Friday, the following suspects had been arrested:
Eugene Bedford Angle Jr., 32, North Alleghany Avenue, Covington. One count of selling or providing for the sale of a Schedule I/II drug.
Regina Carol Angle, 37,  North Lexington Avenue, Covington. Two counts  of   selling or providing for the sale of a Schedule I/II drug. Two counts of conspiracy to violate the Drug Control Act.
Ernest Wade Armentrout II, 38, North Lexington Avenue, Covington. Two counts  of   selling or providing for the sale of a Schedule I/II drug. Two counts of conspiracy to violate the Drug Control Act.
Michael Wayne Benway, 45, Bens Run Road, Covington. One count of manufacturing/distributing a Schedule I/II drug (subsequent offense). One count of conspiracy to violate the Drug Control Act.
Michael Edward Brewster Jr., 50, North Pocahontas Avenue, Covington. One count of manufacturing/distributing a Schedule I/II drug (subsequent offense). One count of obtaining less than $500 under false pretense.
James Michael Brooks Jr. 22, Horse Mountain Road, Covington. One count of selling or providing for the sale of a Schedule I/II drug. One count of conspiracy to violate the Drug Control Act.
Brittany Nicole Carter, 29, Grande Road, Covington. One count of selling or providing for the resale of a Schedule I/II drug. 
Deborah Anne Coleman, 40, Jefferson Street, Clifton Forge. One count of selling or providing for the resale of a Schedule III drug. 
Rena Ann Craft, 43, Market Street, Iron Gate. One count of selling or providing for the resale of a Schedule I/II drug. One count of posing one-half ounce to five pounds of marijuana with intent to distribute. Two counts of conspiracy to violate the Drug Control Act.
Ian Paul Gallop, 36, Triangle Way, Clifton Forge. One count of possession or transporting a weapon after being convicted as a violent felon. One count of possession of marijuana, first offense. One count of unauthorized possession of drug paraphernalia. One count of petit larceny involving less than $500. One count of distribution of more than 10 grams of methamphetamine. One count of abuse of an incapacitated adult. One count of possessing a gun while selling a Schedule I/II drug. One count of conspiring to violate the Drug Control Act.
Chad Michael Harrison, 33, Pitzer Ridge Road, Covington. One count of conspiring to violate the Drug Control Act.
Aaron Hanshew, 31, South Alleghany Avenue, Covington. One count of possession with intent to manufacture or sell a Schedule I/II drug. One count of possession of a Schedule I/II drug. One account of attempting to introduce drugs into a jail facility.
Jody Allen Jeffries Jr., 23, Bens Run Road. One count of conspiring to violate the Drug Control Act.
Tyler Austin Lee Lewis, 19, Cartwright Lane, Covington. One count of selling or providing for the resale of a Schedule I/II drug. One count of conspiring to violate the Drug Control Act.
Gary Wayne Owens Jr., 38, Ash Avenue, New Castle. One count of distributing marijuana (third or more felony offense). Two counts of conspiring to violate the Drug Control Act.
Randolph Mitchell Owens Jr., 58, Market Street, New Castle. One count of selling or providing  for the resale of a Schedule I/II drug. One count of possessing one-half ounce to five pounds of marijuana with intent to distribute.
Richard Danik Riley II, Bens Run Road, Covington. One count of manufacturing or distributing a Schedule I/II drug (second offense).
Steven James Garret Sammons, 33, Nicholas Drive, Clifton Forge. Two counts of selling or providing for the resale of a Schedule I/II drug.
Stephen Mark Anthony Smith, 28, Hot Springs. One count of selling or distributing a Schedule III drug.
Whitney Logan Stanley, 30, Main Street, Clifton Forge. One count of selling or providing for the resale of a Schedule I/II drug.
Elden Lee Stout, 34, Buffalo Road, Buchanan. Three counts of selling or providing for the resale of a Schedule I/II drug. Three counts of conspiring to violate the Drug Control Act.
Kaitlynne Sue Stout, 22, Buffalo Road, Buchanan.  Three counts of selling or providing for the resale of a Schedule I/II drug. Three counts of conspiring to violate the Drug Control Act.
Officers from the Alleghany Highlands Drug Task Force were assisted by officers from the Craig County Sheriff’s Office, the Rockbridge County Sheriff’s Office, the Clifton Forge Police Department and the Covington Police Department in making the arrests, Alleghany County Sheriff Kevin Hall said. 
To report suspected illegal drug activity, call the Alleghany County Sheriff’s Office at (540) 965-1770 or the Drug Task Force at (540) 965-6308. 

Information will be kept confidential.
The Alleghany Highlands Drug Task Force is a Virginia State Police task force consisting of officers from the Alleghany County Sheriff’s Office, the Bath County Sheriff’s Office, the Craig County Sheriff’s Office and the Virginia State Police.
