CLIFTON FORGE — Garlynda’s Fancy Feet will present its “Mystical Magical World of Dance” mini-recital on Saturday, Aug. 1, at 5:30 p.m. at the Masonic Amphitheatre.
In the event of rain, the event will be held Sunday, Aug. 2, at 5:30 p.m.
Admission is $5 in advance  and $8 at the door. A limited number of tickets will be available.
Tickets can be purchased at the Garlynda’s Fancy Feet dance studio or by contacting (540) 691-6087 or (540) 691-6058. Those who attend are asked to bring their own lawn chairs.
The performance will be broken down into two dance sessions, with half the dancers performing in each session.
The second session will begin approximately 20 minutes following the conclusion of the first one.
On Thursday, July 30, at 6 p.m., also at the Masonic Amphitheatre, members of Garlynda’s Fancy Feet Dance Troupe will be presenting a showcase of the dances from the competition season that was cancelled due to the Coronavirus pandemic.
Admission for the July 30 exhibition is free; however, donations are appreciated.
The troupe, under the direction of Giaynna Smith (choreographer) and Garlynda Haynes, was supposed to attend three dance competitions this past spring in Norfolk, Roanoke, and Myrtle Beach, S.C. However, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, all events were cancelled.
The troupe continued rehearsals through Zoom classes, a program offered on the Internet. After Phase III was enacted, troupe members returned to the dance studio to work on the performance.
Many members of the dance troupe plan to attend two mini competitions in August.
