Carl Abijha Mann, 81, of 9300 Potts Creek Road, died Friday, Sept. 4, 2020, at his residence.
Mr. Mann was born Aug. 16, 1939, in Washington, D.C., a son of the late Leroy S. Mann and Clara Mann.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by one brother, John Mann.
Carl retired as a Lt. Col. with the United States Army after 28 years and he served two tours in Vietnam.
He was a real estate agent and instructor with Long & Foster Real Estate Co. in Roanoke for a number of years.
Mr. Mann was a member of Pinnell Chapel United Methodist Church where he served as lay leader, and he was a graduate of Virginia Polytechnic Institute.
Surviving is his wife of 51 years, Celinda Dodson Mann of Covington; one daughter, Tamy Mann of Covington; one son, Michael Blackwell of Pearisburg; two granddaughters, Reilly and Abriel Blackwell, both of Pearisburg; Sharon Stacy of Blacksburg; and a number of nieces and nephews.
In keeping with his wishes his body has been cremated.
A service will be held at a later date.
