COVINGTON, Va. (VR) – Despite forecasted rains, the 10th annual Covington Cork and Pork Festival “was a very good event,” said Allen Dressler, Covington city manager, near the wrap-up of the event.
During the opening ceremonies Dressler, Mayor Tom Sibold and D.B. Bryant, finance director, stood together at the foot of the stage to welcome and thank all the vendors, guests, visitors and the city’s public works staff for supporting the festival.
The ran held off for the entire festival. The sun and fun-filled festival consisted of vendor and food sales, area bands, area dancers, eating contests, BBQ contests, bouncy houses, a mini-basketball court and corn-hole games, culminating in an awards ceremony.
