COVINGTON, Va. (VR) – The city of Covington has announced multiple downtown street and parking area closures that will take place beginning on Thursday, June 1. The streets and parking lots will be blocked off and impassible beginning at 4 p.m. on June 1 and will remain closed until Sunday, June 4, at 8 a.m. This will be for the Old Town Covington Cork & Pork Festival that will be taking place throughout the weekend.
The streets that will be affected by the closure will be the following:
Main Street from Maple and Main intersection to the Wells Fargo parking lot entrance;
Maple Avenue from Locust Street and Maple intersection to Maple and Main intersection
Court Street from Court Street and Main intersection to Locust Street and Court intersection; and
Locust Street from Locust Street and Maple Avenue intersection to Locust Street and Court intersection.
Additionally, the Mid-City Mall parking lot and City Hall parking lot will be closed.
The city apologizes for any inconvenience this may cause. Please, make arrangements and have cars removed by 4 p.m. Thursday afternoon. Participants of the event are encouraged to park in the designated public parking areas located around the downtown area.
