COVINGTON, Va. (VR) – The Alleghany Cruisers are ready to cruise the town. Cruisin’ Covington returns on April 21 and continues every Friday night through August 26.
Cruisin’ Covington is more than just an old-fashioned boulevard cruise. This event is about getting folks out on the town, and not only cruising, but enjoying a social outing and supporting local businesses.
“The whole idea is to get folks out of the house and on the town,” says Alleghany Cruisers President Robert Floyd. “Folks get out and ride, park and hang out and eat at local restaurants. Cruisin’ Covington is all about doing what we all did when we were in our teens.”
Cruisin’ Covington kicks off at 6 p.m. each Friday night with groups usually meeting near the Chamber of Commerce or the Jamison Commerce Center. While there is an official cruise route, this event is totally freestyle and has no set end time.
