Dear Editor,
As the commander of VFW Post 4299 in Clifton Forge, I would like to thank all the people who helped make our Christmas gift program a success this year.
We yearly take gifts to our veterans at the VA hospital in Salem.
The donations we received from patrons of the Dollar General Store in Clifton Forge were greatly appreciated.
A special shout-out to Rhonda Burger who once again went out of her way to help us with this program.
Without the kindness and generosity shown by people in our area this program could not be successful.
I would also like to thank the members of Post 4299 for their faithful help in this endeavor every year.
Hope that everyone has a healthy and prosperous new year.
