BEDFORD CO, Va. – Virginia State Police are investigating a single-vehicle crash, which resulted in a fatality. The crash occurred Wednesday, (Mar 22) at 12:40 p.m. on Route 460, just west of Heightview Drive in Bedford County.
A 2015 Jeep Latitude was traveling east on Route 460 at Heightview Drive when the vehicle ran off the right side of the roadway and struck a tree.
Vicki Bailey Crews, 64, of Alta Vista, Va. was a passenger in the vehicle. Ms. Crews was wearing her seatbelt and was transported to Lynchburg General Hospital, where she later died.
The 65-year-old female driver of the vehicle was also injured and transported to Lynchburg General Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
There are no charges pending. The crash remains under investigation.
