Henry Tucker does not consider 13 to be an unlucky number after purchasing a $10 winning raffle ticket on Mon., March 13, one that won for him a turkey rifle and a check for $300. Tucker remarked, “It’s the first time I’ve won anything since I won a piggy bank 20 years ago.” Tucker and Bruce Greene, his friend, are both from Covington, and they were at Mountain Top Hunting and Fishing in Covington where the raffle tickets were on sale the day of the drawing.
After Greene purchased five raffle tickets, he urged his friend to purchase some too. Tucker chose to purchase only one raffle ticket which turned out to be all that he needed to win the $699.95 Remington Bone Collector M-887 rifle and a $300 prize. Greene remarked, “After I purchased five raffle tickets, I told Bruce that he should try to win the rifle too.” Tucker noted that when he purchased the winning raffle ticket he did not realize there was a $300 prize that came with the rifle, and he expressed his thanks to his friend for steering him to good fortune.
